When do I need to RSVP by?

The sooner the better! But please let us know at the latest by the 31st of August. If you're not sure whether you can come, and need some time to think, please let us know so we can take this into account.

What is the dress code?

Black tie/Formal i.e. tux or formal suit for the men, long dresses for the ladies

Can I bring a +1?

Your invitation should make it clear who is invited - if you're not sure, please just ask us! Unfortunately seats are limited at the reception venue; we may be able to accommodate additional people depending on RSVPs

Can I bring children?

We are very keen to have your kids and babies involved, if you would like to bring them - but also feel free to take the night off if you prefer! Please let us know if you plan to bring a child >12 months old, as we need to account for them in the numbers/meals for the venue

Gifts

Gifts are absolutely not necessary. We are very grateful for your presence and support on the day. We will have a wishing well on the day if you would like to make a contribution to a painting we hope to buy to commemorate the occasion!​

21 Gun Salute

We have been informed that between 3:05 and 3:10pm, there is a 21 Gun Salute scheduled. This will take place at Fleet Steps near Mrs Macquarie's Chair. This is an approved military activity organised by the Department of Defence and will include a series of loud gunfire rounds which may be heard across the Gardens. Please don't be alarmed if you hear gun shots moments before Helena walks down the aisle.

Following the ceremony, the photographer will take the following group portraits;

We would appreciate if you could please remain near the ceremony venue until your photos are taken. 

 

Inclement Weather

At the moment, the Bureau of Meterology is predicting thunderstorms for Saturday afternoon - perfect! 

Plan A (good weather): please arrive at the Botanic Gardens at 3pm; Helena will walk down the aisle at 3:15pm. 
Plan B (bad weather): ceremony and reception at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. You will be invited to a private Gallery viewing at 5.15pm, and the ceremony will be held at 6pm. 

We will contact you all by 10am on Saturday 8th November if we are going ahead with Plan B. If you don't hear from us, please come to the Botanic Gardens at 3pm.
